I will stamp all over 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
